Snorkeling, Party Boats, and Sandbars Oh My!

Today, I woke up with a kind of tropical-wanderlust. So now I’m eating Hawaiian pizza from Domino’s because that’s about as tropical as we get in Michigan.

For me, this summer has been a lot more work than play. I’m taking summer classes and working “two and a half” jobs, but I’ve just enough time between the studying and my next shift to sit down (with my Hawaiian pizza…) and day dream about Cococay Island. Continue reading

A Day in Nassau without Cruise Excursions

Going to the Bahamas but want to experience Nassau without cruise excursions? I’m here to help! I went on an incredible trip with some of my closest friends from college as we celebrated our graduation. The first leg of the trip was a four night Royal Caribbean Cruise that set sail from Miami – overall the cruise was a great deal (~$100 a night which included the pool, hot tub, entertainment, unlimited breakfast, lunch, fancy three course dinner, and 2am pizza…) but that definitely didn’t mean I had cash to spare. Best Nassau Bars for a Cruise Stopover

Confession: I was going to write a post on the best way to spend a cruise stopover day in Nassau, but you can see where my priorities lie as half the post was about all the different cocktails I had! Being on an island famous for Rum, Nassau is home to a lot of colorful and beachy cocktails, most famously the “Bahama Mama” (a rum, coconut rum, grenadine, orange juice, pineapple juice, sometimes butterscotch concoction!).
